Responsibilities:
- Preparing project costing quotation and tenders, prepare project budget, progress claims, projected cash flow, tender documentation and final accounts.
- Negotiation with suppliers / contractors. Manage pre and post contracts variation issues and assist in daily project operations.
- Preparation of client’s billing & subcontract billing. Carry out feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labour costs. Negotiate and draw up bids for tenders and contracts.
- Responsible for planning of project activities i. e material planning, manpower planning, machinery planning and monitoring regularly.
- Preparation of Control Estimate & Budget. Managing all cost analysis relating to the projects, from the initial stage to the final closure.
- Cross checking and forwarding Final bills along with deviation statements to the clients
- Certify progress claims including managing subcontractors and suppliers including allocating works to subcontractors. Prepare bill of quantities, which lists in detail all the individual work components of the project. Estimation of the Quantity required for the project and placing the indent for materials well in advance.
- Maintaining the documents and records for each running bill. Monitor each stage of construction to make sure that costs are in line with forecasts.
- Provide financial progress reports to clients. Advise clients on legal and contractual matters.
- Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies; performing risk and value management and cost control.
- Advising on procurement strategy. Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks; Preparing and analysing costings for tenders; Allocating work to subcontractors;
- Other duties assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
- In-depth experience of Quantity Surveying work, associated procedures and practices, preferably in a large public/private organisation.
- Demonstrable experience in the following areas:
- Project management
- Budget management
- Construction procurement
- Collaborative/partnership working
- Substantial level of skills in the following areas
- Able to consult, negotiate, influence and persuade a wide range of people
- Able to organise and prioritise workloads to meet required targets/deadlines
- Able to create and maintain working partnerships and relationships, both internally and externally
- Able to write clear, concise reports dealing with complex technical issues
- Able to understand and adhere to complex regulations and procedures and to effectively assimilate procedural and technical detail
