Durham is delighted to be able to offer 5 Commonwealth Shared Scholarships 2013 in partnership with the Department for International Development. These scholarships are for Commonwealth nationals from developing countries to study a taught Master’s course at Durham in one of the following subjects:
- Communications Engineering
- International Studies
- Internet Systems and eBusiness
- Medical Anthropology
- New and Renewable Energy
- Risk and Environmental Hazards
- Risk, Health and Public Policy
- Social Work Studies
- Sustainability, Culture and Development
Each scholarship covers the cost of one return journey between the award-holder's home and Durham (economy class), and provides full payment of tuition fees, a stipend of £917 per month, a grant of a £200 towards the cost of study travel, a grant of £225 towards the cost of thesis binding and the cost of up to 10 Kilograms of excess baggage (books only) for scholars returning home at the end of their awards.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:- Have applied for a place on an eligible programme at Durham University;
- Be a national of or permanently domiciled in a Commonwealth developing country.
How to Apply
Applicants should apply directly to Durham but indicate on their application that they wish to be considered for the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme.
